Over the years it is known that Gene Simmons has never excessively drank or used illegal substances despite living a very “rock-and-roll” lifestyle. However, in 2016 the musician finally revealed why. Gene explained that after his mother, Florence Klein, had such a problematic childhood, he didn’t feel as though he had any right to cause his mother any further harm by watching her son’s demise. While he doesn’t want to push his choices onto anyone, Gene says that his addiction in life has been to accomplishments.
