A year after her debut effort, Ariana produced the follow-up in the form of EDM-infused “My Everything.” Although reviews for the release weren’t as positive as they had been for “Yours Truly,” the album marked a more mature sound for the star.
She was praised for showing that she wasn’t just a novelty and that there was more to her than simply a strong pair of lungs. Like its predecessor, the sophomore effort also peaked at number one, selling over 700,000 copies in the U.S. alone.
