Neil Patrick Harris had the starring role as the titular character on Doogie Howser, M.D. A young genius, Doogie was already a licensed doctor at the age of 14, having been inspired by his own experiences surviving leukemia. Throughout the series, Doogie tried to balance the stressful life of a doctor with the carefree desires of a teenager, although that didn’t always go to plan. The character was also known to write down his experiences and the lessons he’d learned in a computer diary as he adjusted to the changes in his life.
