The Bundys’ neighbor Marcy D’Arcy was played by actress Amanda Bearse. Marcy often considered herself to be better than the Bundys, although she often ends up sinking to their level. She worked as a loan officer and then became a bank manager. Like Peggy, Marcy often bickered back and forth with Al, and she especially did not approve of his chauvinistic view of women. Nevertheless, Marcy has at times been shown to be civil with Al, with the two offering advice to the other.
