Burt Reynolds met his second wife Loni Anderson while on the set of 1983 action comedy Stroker Ace. Their relationship was always known as a tempestuous one, but despite that they got married, even adopting a child together. The pair were married from 1988 to 1993 but Reynolds and Anderson were both having regrets. Anderson claimed he was physically abusive to her in the relationship while Reynolds thought he should never have been involved with another actress. They had a public divorce, resulting in Reynolds filing for bankruptcy.
