In the 1990s, popular TV-host Vanna White built a multi-million dollar dream mansion in Los Angeles with her now ex-husband, George Santo Pietro. However, after their divorce, it has been listed for sale – at a staggering $47.5 million. Most of us can’t afford to buy this unique dream home, but at least we can get a free peek inside…
Home of fortune
Vanna White is a model, television personality, and actress, who is famous for hosting the hit gameshow Wheel of Fortune. Now, she has a fortune of her own, which is evident in her former Beverly Hills mansion that was recently listed on the market.
White owned and lived in the huge home for 35 years with her former husband George Santo Pietro, and moved out when the pair split. The mansion has nearly everything you could dream of, and it is being sold for an unbelievable sum.
Room for guests
Vanna White’s former home in Los Angeles is an extravagant Italianate mansion, set over 14,554-square-feet. It comprises of eight bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a pool, a mini spa, a gym, and its own personal vineyard to fill its wine cellar.
It is in the prestigious gated community of Beverly Park, in Beverly Hills, surrounded by homes owned by the likes of Eddie Murphy and Sylvester Stallone. Up for sale for $47.5 million, the house is truly beautiful, with plenty of space for guests.
The gates to Heaven
Even the gates leading up to the property are utterly picturesque. The land is watched over by palm trees and greenery, giving the entire home a mysterious and natural vibe.
The gates guard the charming mansion which was once the home of Vanna White and George Santo Pietro, before their divorce in 2002. Being greeted by this decorative gated entranceway when you arrive at the mansion definitely sets the house off to a good start.
Straight out of a dream
Inside the ornate gates is a marvelous courtyard, equipped with a fountain as a centerpiece. It is only here that you can grasp the true beauty of the house in all its grandeur.
The eight-bedroom mansion is positioned perfectly, so that as you enter the front courtyard, the breathtaking home surrounds you, where you can really begin to appreciate its size and magnificent architecture. The front of the house also features more palm trees and shrubbery, just in case the mansion wasn’t already enough of a fairytale home.
The house from outside
From the side, it becomes clear to see that the house was designed very specifically, for the sole purpose of being alluring, yet unusually elegant. What we guess to be artificial grass surrounds the house, so it remains neat and lusciously green all year round – although, we’d like to give it a try just so we don’t have to mow the lawn ever again!
Archways and pillars also highlight the building’s exquisite design, thanks to the masterminds of William Hablinski Architecture, and of course, White and Pietro, who worked with the architects to create their dream home.
The back of the mansion also displays the same idyllic landscape of bright green grass and palm trees towering over the land. It also gives you an idea of the surrounding landscape.
The views look as though the house is secluded, despite being part of the high-end estate in Beverly Hills, along with having a view of the house’s personal vineyard on the hill opposite. The exterior of the house is almost as fascinating as the interior, with all its rooms and unique decor.
Walking through the arches
The outside of the mansion doesn’t stop there, however. Along the side of the building are paths which lead to the courtyard and entrance of the house. Enveloped by more luxurious grass and palm trees, are the beautifully lit-up archways at the end of the paths.
The mansion has almost a surreal aura, where the arches seem as though they would lead you to a heavenly parallel universe. Although with that said, the mansion itself almost seems like it’s from another world anyway.
If the mansion, with its incredible number of rooms, spa, and gym, weren’t quite enough for you, then what about its private vineyard? On the hills surrounding the mansion, is the vineyard, which is used for producing homemade wines.
The house has a wine cellar, so it only makes sense to fill it, right? This vineyard provides a fun, yet practical, way to do so. Just imagine the parties you could host here, serving your own, hand-made drinks!
An inviting entrance
Moving inside the house, this stunning foyer welcomes its guests with the utmost grace. The enormous chandelier hangs in the center of the entranceway, serving as a reminder of the magnificent property you’ve entered.
A table full of photographs and memories gives the mansion a cozy and homely feel, which is surprising for such a huge building. Two staircases climb the house, either side of a large window, which no doubt provides for some incredible views of Beverly Hills.
The views inside the mansion
The staircase harnesses a view of much of the center portion of the house. From the stairs, it’s easy to see the thought that went into designing this building in the late 1990s. Large pillars and intricate designs throughout the property work to exaggerate its beauty.
From the stairs, the foyer is visible, along with part of the second story. Of course, this is only a tiny fraction of the mansion and its rooms, just providing the smallest insight into what is yet to be seen.
Wealthy color schemes
Here, you can see one of a few sitting rooms in the mansion. It features yet another chandelier and more incredible designs, but this time, in the form of decor. The room is fitted out in gold and red, which are colors often associated with regality and wealth.
Multiple floor-to-ceiling windows allow the room to fill with natural light and help to open up the space even further. A grand piano is also positioned in the corner of the room as an added reminder of just how high-end this home is.
Unsurprisingly, even the restroom is filled with traditional architecture and a charming chandelier. This room is a far cry from the restrooms and bathrooms we’re used to seeing, but we can only imagine that it might be one of the least impressive of the house’s rooms and ten bathrooms.
Although somewhat of an oddly shaped room, the designers and architects haven’t skimped out here. The room features a large wooden dresser with a marble top, for the added wow-factor, even in such a commonly unimportant room.
Eat, drink, and be merry
The kitchen of the mansion is not only a place to prepare the family’s dinner, but also to serve friends and family. The room is surrounded by cabinets and ornate decorations, and the central worktop doubles as a table which provides enough room for ten, and possibly more, people.
Not pictured is the other half of the kitchen, which accommodates more couches and seating areas. Stepping into this kitchen, it’s almost easy to forget you’re in a Beverly Hills mansion, not your typical humble home.
Multifunctional sitting room
This room seems to be an office and library, offering homeowners a sophisticated workspace. Needless to say, the room includes more couches, a chandelier, and tall windows. Taxidermy hangs upon the wall, representing the high status of the building and those who inhabit it.
This room is considerably more modern than many of the others, although still abides with the traditional interior design which encompasses the entire property. Much of the house follows a natural color scheme and wooden furnishings, and this room is no exception.
It comes as no surprise that the dining room is also exquisitely arranged. The table can seat a large number of guests who visit the property, and traditional paintings line the walls.
Another ceiling-high window brings the room light and a wonderful view of palm trees and greenery around the house. Though a much smaller room than some of the others, for a room with the exclusive purpose of dining, we can’t say it’s too bad at all!
Couches in the corridor
With all of its glorious windows, this mansion barely even needs light fittings. The corridor is naturally bright and airy, with decorations and artwork strewn over its walls. A cabinet also lives within the hall, containing all the drinks you could desire.
The length of this corridor alone highlights the true size of this building, and the reason it’s worth so many tens of millions of dollars. All of the doorways and entrances in this building are arched, which really gives the house its unique atmosphere and appearance.
Another of the sitting rooms features a more mismatched color scheme and furnishings. Multicolored rugs and throws brighten the space, along with the variety of lamps and, of, course, another chandelier. This room isn’t decorated to everyone’s taste, but there’s no denying that it’s a generous amount of space.
The room boasts uniqueness and a suitable place to entertain a vast number of guests. This room, although very individual, still mirrors the theme witnessed around the remainder of the mansion, with it’s natural looking walls, flooring and ceiling.
Family-sized dining room
The mansion doesn’t just have the one dining room – why would it? This dining room, however, is much smaller than the last, presumably for the family’s usual meals, when there are no extra guests.
The decor in this room is much less natural, but rather, delicate and palatial. The room still incorporates muted colors and wooden furnishings but has a much more traditional ambiance. Complete with photographs and flowers, this room has a snug and familiar feel to it.
The stairways are nothing short of luxurious, either. More artwork is mounted on the walls, along with decorative handrails. Pillars and candle holders ensure that even the staircases fit the house’s upper-class vibe and exclusively natural feel.
Following the raw aesthetic of the building, the floor is made from plain tiles which strongly resemble stone. The atmosphere of the stairway is totally unexampled and mimics a path leading underground, for a further reinforced theme of nature.
A very spacious bedroom
The bedrooms within the mansion are lavish and much more contemporary than many of the house’s other rooms. This particular bedroom boasts tremendous amounts of space and the same huge windows which are seen around the rest of the house.
The room features another chandelier – surprise, surprise – along with a desk, and a couple of couches. The room is beautifully uncomplicated and is enough to give us real bedroom-envy! The large windows grant entrance to masses of natural light, whilst the simple, yet stylish, drapes can keep it out.
A room just for clothes
Possibly our favorite of all of White’s former mansion’s rooms – this is the walk-in closet. It’s the perfect place to keep all of your belongings and is incredibly modern – almost too modern to fit in with the rest of the property.
It exhibits a multitude of storage space, closets, and drawers, to fit all of the clothes a wealthy family living here would need. One of the only rooms in the house which doesn’t possess a chandelier, this room looks as though it is straight out of an modern interior design magazine.
This is one more of the mansion’s bedrooms. It is another modern room, designed specifically with White and Pietro’s specific desires in mind. It includes a four-poster bed, a sitting area with armchairs, and sumptuous wooden furniture.
The large windows look over Beverly Hills, and the stunning landscapes, full of palm trees and bushes. The paintings, along with the color combinations of the couch and rug, make the room really pop. It’s the perfect resting spot for the mansion’s occupants, where you can unwind and take in the scenery.
A place for your drinks
This section of the house is part of the wine cellar. With its own private vineyard, there’s no better way to fill this cellar than with your own homemade drinks.
Even though this room doesn’t house guests, or act as a hosting room during parties, it still carries a lot of importance when people visit – and we suppose it’s a major point of interest. In a mansion like this, there’s no doubt the homeowners will host extravagant events, which is when this becomes a critical part of the house.
Arguably one of the most divine components of the house is the seating area by the pool. Decorated with plants and palm trees, this seating area is an utterly spectacular place to chill out. The views are unparalleled, and it seems to be a cozy spot to spend time with friends and family.
Whilst it looks modest, it still somehow appears otherworldly. The chandelier and white armchairs contribute to the peaceful, yet enticing atmosphere, and quite frankly, we’d be happy to hang out here. This is undoubtedly a favorite place to relax.
The glorious pool
Last but not least – the pool. The pool and back of the mansion are incredible, put simply. There’s plenty of room to lounge around the pool that is surrounded by deck chairs, plants and trees/ The area also offers an astounding view of the Beverly Hills scenery.
From the pool, the house is perfectly visible in all its glory. It’s a place where the architecture and design of the entire 14,554-square-foot property can be fully appreciated, while you take a peaceful dip in the pool.
Open floor plan
We’ll admit it – the house looks a bit cluttered as it is, what with the books all over the place, the old furniture, and all of the things hanging from the ceiling. There is a certain charm to it, of course, but this spacious room has so much potential, too.
The kitchen and living room are connected in one large area, which makes the whole home feel more open. It’s also comfortable for when someone wants to cook, but still be able to spend time with the family.
This picture gives you a better idea of just how incredible the sprawling vineyard on the property is. You can see the house from this vineyard on the hillside, and it also provides a nice view from the front of the house.
It shows that whoever buys this property is getting much more than a house – they’re getting the surrounding green hills as well. Hopefully they’ll know a bit about winemaking, or at least are willing to hire someone to help them get started.
Arches all around
One of the most noticeable features of Vanna White’s former mansion are the many arches all around the courtyard. It gives the outside of the house an elegant, classic feeling, and seems to transport you away from Beverly Hills in the 21st century.
We imagine that entering through the arches almost seems like coming home to a castle. It’s a unique touch that makes the whole place feel even more luxurious. The view through the arches is superb as well.
Dining in style
If you’re going to buy such a large mansion, you are likely going to want to host dinner to show it off every now and then. Luckily, this house has a very elegant dining room, perfect for dinner parties.
In fact, that table is so big that there are 18 big, plush chairs around it in the picture, and it doesn’t look cramped. We also like the way that the dining room opens to the outdoors on one side. On nice days, you can even keep those doors open.
Lounging in the sun
In such a large mansion, there is no shortage of space to relax and enjoy yourself. However, the lounge chairs out front have to be the most picturesque. Imagine spending a weekend by the sparkling pool, reclining in those comfy chairs and enjoying the sunshine.
With the perfect landscaping, huge pool, and umbrellas, it looks more like a luxury hotel than a place where people actually live. The symmetry of the house is also stunning, and this view is one of our favorites.
We’ve already mentioned the floor-to-ceiling windows, but you may have also noticed the beautiful French-style floor-to-ceiling doors, as well. But, just how high are those ceilings?
Well, here, you can get a bit of an idea just how tall these walls can be. The arches seem to go on forever, almost as if they’re reaching toward the sky. But, of course, the huge space is perfectly decorated and there are plenty of finishings and touches to fill it.
Dip with a view
There are many different areas of Los Angeles County, and the city of Beverly Hills is just one of them. That doesn’t mean that the other towns and cities are too far away. Thanks to the location of Beverly Hills, residents there get a view of the rest of L.A.
It may be a small distance, but from the pool, you can almost see the buildings of the big city. This means that you can take a dip with a view and sense the contrasting scenery.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wander the halls of a palace? Well, this mansion may not be an official castle, but with these long, exquisite hallways, it might as well be one.
We’re sure that anyone walking down these will definitely feel Royal as they do so. The only thing to keep in mind is how important it is to remember the way around. With such a big house, it seems like it’d be easy to get lost!
Couch in the bathroom
Well, if you’ve ever wanted a home with a full luxury spa as the bathroom, then this is the house for you! Not only is there a tub for the perfect bubble bath, but there is also a couch, just in case anyone should get tired from being pampered too much.
And is that a small steam room in the corner over there? This looks like the perfect place to spend a weekend afternoon relaxing after a long week.
While we’re not quite sure who needs so many of the exact same shirt, the way the crisp button downs line up perfectly next to each other is pretty impressive.
This gorgeous wooden wardrobe is enough to make anyone jealous because even though not everyone would have enough clothes to fill it, most people will agree that it is absolutely stunningly designed. It may not be intricately carved, but the way it shines in the light makes up for it.
We have pointed out the couch and the spa in the luxurious main bathroom, but one of the other ten bathrooms in the White mansion is also quite unique. The geometric floor tiles and the gold mirror frame add a stylish touch to the room.
The artwork on the wall, along with the bust sculpture by the window, prove that even the most private place in the house can be a place of art and culture.
Even though the mansion has several dining area, it looks like the residents will not miss out on an opportunity to dine outside. The backyard has an outdoor dining table not too far from the swimming pool, for those warm nights or breezy days.
Whether it’s a fancy catered dinner or an impromptu weekend barbecue, why not have it right by the pool? Just as long all the guests make sure to take some time between eating and swimming.
The Mona Lisa
The basement level contains not only a wine cellar, but also another common area use for entertaining, or simply just lounging. The basement has exposed concrete floors and antique rugs, that give the room a medieval feel of a hunting cabin.
Hanging on the wall is Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa (not the original one, that one can be found in the Musée du Louvre in Paris), representing once again the house residents’ appreciation of fine arts.
Another option for outdoor entertaining is this party tent. With brick floors and green plants leading into it, this looks like the perfect spot to sip some of that homemade wine and enjoy fresh air even if the temperatures are a bit on the chillier side.
The two large sofas make it possible to have quite a lot people over, and judging by the paintings on the sidewalls, we can assume that at some point during the evening, the guests will discuss art.
Exploring massive mansions, there is one thing we don’t often pay attention to: the lighting. Looking at Vanna White’s house, it’s safe to say that a lot of thought had been put into the design and execution of the lighting system.
From the warm lights inside to the brighter ones in the yard, every lamp and lightbulb seems to be put in a specific spot. The pool lights go together perfectly with the surrounding lights, making the mansion as beautiful at nighttime as it is during the day.
