[post_page_title]Alopecia[/post_page_title]
Chimpanzees and humans share a lot of the same DNA so it is not surprising that they are susceptible to some of the same conditions as humans. The cause of the hairless chimps is a condition called alopecia. The condition is also known as spot baldness and can cause the loss of hair on a person’s scalp or all over their body. The condition is thought to be caused by an autoimmune disorder.
