Glenn’s death was particularly upsetting, and not only because he was one of the original characters and a true fan-favorite. It wasn’t even because Maggie was left a devastated, pregnant widow. It was because just a few episodes beforehand, we were made to believe that Glenn died, after being cornered by walkers. This made fans believe he may survive after all, despite his comic-book fate, but seeing Negan savagely beat him with Lucille proved otherwise. Not only did the cringe-worthy moment break our hearts, but it changed the survivors forever.
