Another thing that gets done in some Russian prisons is that they take frequent roll calls, up to three times a day. Something tells us that this is actually not so uncommon when you compare it to other prisons around the world.
It makes sense that the prison guards would want to constantly check up on everyone, and make sure that they are still around. Still, it must get pretty tedious after a while, constantly having to remind people of your presence.
