Even if aren’t able to read the sign in this picture, it’s one of those photos that kind of speaks for itself, doesn’t it? It’s hard to tell whether or not the faces in that window belong to inmates or guards, but their dreary expression seem to be telling us that they aren’t exactly enjoying themselves.
The sign actually means, “Every employee is a teacher and a controller.” When you consider that, dreary is indeed one of the words that comes to mind.
