Although most of the world knew him as a solo act, he played with a number of bands before he went solo. The songs he made during his “band days” may have not been country, but they became hits nonetheless.
The best part is that he was still tight with his band-mates. Of course, after spending so much time with someone while doing something that you both enjoy, it creates a sense of togetherness you can find nowhere else.
