The country star appeared in a Daniel Petrie film alongside Diane Lane, Erin Gray, Anthony Michael Hall, and Barry Corbin. The movie pulled in $20 million at the box office, which was quite a tidy sum in the 80s.
The storyline is along the lines of a guy witnessing kids stealing car parts and he pursues them to catch up with them by a river. And then he finds out they are orphaned and that they take their loot to the sheriff. The sheriff arrests this guy but the kids help him break free. In the long run, they become cool friends and participate in a race.
