The musician was fortunate to have a long career that has brought him both fame and prosperity. He once said in an interview that he would only stop performing once he ran out of energy. Sadly, that time has come in the past few years.
He first announced his retirement when he battled skin cancer so that he could devote more time to his family. He went on a retirement tour, where he was basically telling his fans goodbye, but his health problems have gotten in the way.
