Willis was one of 2,000 people who auditioned for the role, but once the casting crew spotted Willis, they knew they had found their guy. The network, ABC, however, were worried that people wouldn’t believe there was any kind of romantic tension between the main actors. It seemed as though Addison made it his life’s goal to get under the skin of his attractive new boss.
