Not everyone has the capabilities or the inspiration to transform their house from a building into a home, which is why we will forever be thankful for HGTV. This television network allows people from across the world the chance to watch countless shows that surround home renovation, DIY, interior design, and real estate as a whole.
Many of us have fallen for HGTV shows over the years, but there is one that stands out above all the rest. Fixer Upper first hit our screens back in May 2013 and ran for five years until it finally came to an end in April 2018. Although we are used to seeing the stars of the show, Chip and Joanna Gaines, create magic with some of the most run-down properties all around the world, it seems as though their own home has a very different story to tell.
Chip and Joanna are able to use their wealth of knowledge to transform these dilapidated houses into absolute masterpieces. Fixer Upper has become one of the most popular home renovation shows on our screens today, and Chip and Joanna’s business has definitely gone from strength to strength.

So just who are the Gaines? The pair grew up in the same state before they even enrolled in the same college – only three years apart. Chip and Joanna went on to meet in 2001 after living such parallel lives.
Chip admits the sparks were there as soon as he laid eyes on Joanna’s photo. The snap was on a wall at her father’s shop, and Chip finally wed the woman of his dreams in 2003. Although they have lived in nine different houses over the years, the Gaines have now created a family home all of their own.
