Finding somewhere to live in the modern world seems to be getting harder and harder. If you want to live somewhere close to the action, you’re going to be spending the majority of your wages on rent and don’t even get us started on buying. Living life in the fast lane isn’t an option for everyone because of rent prices, but surely, no matter who you are, landlords will be happy to take your money, right?
At the end of the day as long as you’re paying the rent and bills then why would the landlord really care who lives in their property? One woman was looking to find a new flat and live on her own, but she ran into some trouble. She thought she had found the perfect place to live but was told she wouldn’t be allowed to live there because she wasn’t moving in with a man.

We’ve all come a long way since the years where women were viewed as wives and child bearers. Nowadays anyone can be whatever they want to be, and we think that makes the world a pretty great place. There should be no barriers to doing anything, as long as it’s legal of course!
Our society is slowly but surely becoming more equal, and that’s a real sign of progress, but there’s still some way to go. The gender pay gap is still pretty big, and one woman from the UK discovered her gender worked against her when trying to find a place to live.
