Policewoman’s cancer was detected early thanks to her bulletproof vest

Samantha Woods may be a police officer, but recently she was the one who was saved by her job. Wearing her body armor every day, as all cops do, she started noticing an aching feeling in her chest. Luckily she decided to go to the doctor – and discovered she has breast cancer.

Samantha hadn’t thought much of the ache in her left breast. She is still a fairly new police officer, as she joined the UK Police force in February of last year. And as a healthy 33-year-old, it never occurred to her the ache could be health related.

Instead, she simply thought the protective vest was too small for her. So she approached her boss, asking how to get a new one.
