Back in the earlier centuries of civilization, portrait paintings were the only way you could gain a full scope of what you looked like. There were no phones and no cameras.
This full-length portrait you see here is an example of what wealthy families would have commissioned – they’d stand for hours on end in front of the artist. The visitor you see admiring the portrait is strangely very similar looking to the man in the portrait. They’re even wearing identical style clothes.
