There are increasing numbers of people who believe that dress codes should be done away with altogether. They claim that decorum is an unnecessary concern to saddle children with, and that it is not a matter which would present trouble for students unless adults caused it to do so.
The primary concern for most students when choosing clothes would be comfort, not appropriateness. As such, it is claimed that concerns of decorum are a self-fulfilling prophecy, because saddling children with such concerns is what causes them to become a problem in the first place.
