One solution to this question that some parents and schools suggest is the adoption of a school uniform. Advocates of uniforms claim that they erase the need for a dress code because it would be impossible for someone to wear something in that was in contravention of it.
In addition, they suggest that uniforms would help ease concerns of bullying over clothing, as every student would be wearing the same things. However, opponents of uniforms argue that they stifle self-expression, and are often prohibitively expensive.
