However, there is an increasing contingent of people who feel that the ones who decide a student dress code should be the students themselves. In large part, this is because it is students who must live with the dress code, and as such it should be one that they have had input on, and are comfortable with.
In addition, people claim that children are just that, and that the concerns placed on them by parents and schools are irrelevant or inappropriate. Left to themselves, children would simply view clothing as a neutral facet of life, and act accordingly.
