[post_page_title]Colin Firth – King George VI[/post_page_title]
Colin Firth is one of the most famous actors in the world thanks to his roles in films like Kingsman and Bridget Jones’ Diary. One of his other most famous roles came in the 2010’s The King’s Speech. Firth portrayed King George VI, the monarch who famously had issues with his speech.
George VI is the father of the current ruling monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, but he wasn’t meant to rule. His brother Edward VIII sat on the throne but abdicated just months after, forcing George VI to take the hotseat at short notice. The story follows George and a speech therapist who helps him overcome his problems with public speaking so the new king can address his people.
