Jolie made her first move to a more private and calm lifestyle when she adopted son Maddox in 2002. The then 28-year old Angelina was entering a new phase of her life and was taking motherhood seriously, avoiding the type of controversial events of her earlier years.
Once she started dating Brad, Angie opted for a more private relationship this time around. During the majority of their 12 years together Jolie shared very little information about their lives, and was especially protective of their children’s privacy.
