In 2003 Angelina landed the female lead in action filled thriller Mr. and Mrs. Smith, alongside Brad Pitt. The two play a married couple who both secretly work as spies and the onscreen chemistry between them was unmistakable, and a major reason the movie was such a huge success.
Already while filming however, rumors about a possible off-screen romance between the two started spreading. Brad was at the time married to Jennifer Aniston and these rumors have never been confirmed. Him and Aniston called it quits in 2005 citing irreconcilable differences, but also making it clear their split had nothing to do with media’s speculations on an affair with Jolie.
