Her size is something that Ariel has always been conscious of. She’s learned to ignore the comments regularly made by strangers, but it wasn’t easy growing up. When Modern Family first hit our screens, she was only 11, and she still had all the trials and tribulations of growing up to go through. Sure enough, as she became a teenager, she noticed the changes her body were going through and it complicated things.
However, as someone in the public eye, she had to wear a smile on her face and pretend that everything was fine, even when she felt incredibly self-conscious. It didn’t help that people online were calling her “fat” and accusing her of being too big to be attractive. That alone is too much for people to handle, regardless of whether or not they’re a hormonal teenager.
