Some of the best beauty secrets for any woman

Is it just us, or does anyone else feel like every other woman went to some sort of secret class to learn about how to do makeup and we just missed out?! Everyone else seems to know exactly what they’re doing, while we muddle along with makeup remover soaked cotton balls and Q-tips! Thankfully, there are some secret tips and tricks that can help you feel like a makeup pro, even when you are not!

Double layer your liner

If you struggle to get a neat line when it comes to your eyeliner, you could try going in first with a creamy pencil. These tend to be easier to apply in a straight line when compared to liquid liner. Then, go over your pencil line with the liquid eyeliner for a bolder finish, and no one needs to know how you got to it! As a bonus tip, leave your pencil eyeliner in the freezer until 15 minutes before you need to apply it to make sure it glides on smoothly!

A softer look

Defining your eyes with black kohl all the way around is pretty ’90s and can actually end up making your eyes look smaller than ever. For something a bit softer that will make your eyes pop, line the top lash line in black, and the bottom in brown, with a smudge of white on the inner corner – beautiful!

Warm your eyelash curler

Firstly, if you’re not using an eyelash curler, you should be! Although it looks like a Medieval torture device, it can give you beautifully curled lashes regardless of what mascara you are wearing. To give it extra clout, gently warm it before use by blasting it with your blow drier. Be careful to test it before you put it close to your eyes, so you don’t burn your delicate lids!

Stop the spots!

If you have noticed you get regular breakouts on your chin or around your jawline; the chances are you are subconsciously leaning on your chin while sitting at your computer. Get rid of the dirt and bacteria on your hands by always keeping hand sanitizer next to your computer.

Avoid powder

Once you are over 35, try to avoid powder as it is likely to set into the wrinkles around your eyes and mouth and automatically ages you. Keep shine away using facial blotting tissues instead of face powder for the same effect.

DIY tinted moisturiser

Don’t spend money where you don’t need to! Squirt a drop of your foundation onto the back of your hand and add in some moisturizer, mixing the two to create your very own personalized tinted moisturizer. You love both of the products, so why not utilize them together, rather than risking disliking something new.

Nailing nails

To keep your polish last longer, make sure you wipe your nails before painting them, with an acetone-based cleanser. By getting the excess oil, dirt, and moisture off your nails before you start, you’ll give the polish the best chance of adhering to them. If you end up with yellow nails stained from polish, you can get rid of this using whitening toothpaste and a good old-fashioned nail brush!

You’re beautiful just the way you are – but with these secret beauty tips, you can step it up a notch!
