After leaving ‘SNL’ Farley decided that, for the time being, he was done with working in television. He wanted to focus more on his film career, hoping that he would be able to score some real successes.

His first two major films were the 1995 comedy ‘Tommy Boy’, and the 1996 comedy ‘Black Sheep’, both of which Farley appeared in with his former castmate and good friend David Spade. The films received a mixed reception, but performed reasonably well at the box office.
