Although Farley had been struggling with personal problems, he was still doggedly working at making it in the film industry. In January of 1997, he starred in the comedy ‘Beverly Hills Ninja’, a film about a bumbling American raised by a group of ninjas, who tries to solve crimes with little success.
Although the film was moderately successful at the box office, it was not well-received by critics, who panned it as largely unfunny and unoriginal – which was a great disappointment to Farley.
