After a period at the Ark, Farley decided that it was time to move to a big city and make a serious attempt at starting a career in comedy. Farley moved to Chicago, Illinois, where the Second City theater is located.
The Second City is a legendary presence in improvisational comedy, having produced many famous alumni – including a large amount of the original ‘SNL’ cast. Farley was made one of the theater’s main cast members in 1989 – this was a big step in his comedic career.
