In 1990, Farley – like so many Second City alumni – was announced as a new member of the cast of ‘Saturday Night Live’. Coincidentally, the other addition to the cast was Chris Rock, who would go on to become one of the most famous comedians in the U.S.
This was huge for Farley – he had moved to Chicago in the hopes of establishing himself as a comedian, and now, just four years after graduating from Marquette, he was moving to New York to appear on the world’s biggest sketch show.
