During his time at ‘Saturday Night Live’, Farley was known for his impressive character work – which he was naturally suited to due to his boisterous comedic style and over-the-top mannerisms.

He created several characters, one of his most famous creations being Matt Foley – a character actually created while he was at Second City – a motivational speaker with a very particular approach to inspiration. In addition, Farley performed several impressions, of people such as singer Meatloaf, singer Cass Elliot, and film critic Roger Ebert.
