Fawcett only lasted one season on the show, and when she quit, both fans and producers were massively disheartened. She decided to leave so she could focus on her marriage and film work instead, but ABC producers were not happy.
In fact, they tried to sue her for $7 million dollars to persuade her to stay longer. However, Fawcett put up a good fight, and it was eventually agreed that she could leave the show only if she agreed to make at least six guest appearances in the next two seasons.
