Despite the three angels being the main characters in the show, and despite the character of ‘Charlie’ not actually ever appearing, it was, in fact, still John Forsythe who played Charlie that got paid the most.
Although Forsythe was a massive name at the time, it’s still unbelievable to think a voice actor at the other end of the telecom was paid more than any of the actors we saw on screen. What’s more, during the time of the show, Forsythe was the highest-paid actor on TV.
