So why was Charlie’s Angels canceled in the first place? Well, we’ve already mentioned that it might have something to do with the 1980s SAC strike, but ultimately, it was the ratings that caused the show to be axed.
By the fifth season, ratings were at an all-time low, averagely scoring 59th out of the 65th shows on air at the time. This simply wasn’t good enough for the producers or the network, hence why the final ever episode aired on June 24, 1981.
