For quite some time, the lineup of the three angels was always going to include a blonde, a brunette, and a red-head. However, once casting began, this idea was taken off the table, simply because so many other actresses were better for the parts.
Kate Jackson was cast first as Sabrina Duncan, then Farrah Fawcett was cast as Jill Munroe, and then lastly, Jaclyn Smith. Producers originally wanted a red-head, but after seeing Smith’s chemistry with the two other girls, they had no other choice but to compromise.
