[post_page_title]Silent partners owned the show[/post_page_title]
During the production of their 1973 film ‘The Affair’, Aaron Spelling promised Hollywood power couple Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner that one day they could co-own a TV show with him. So therefore, once ‘Charlie’s Angels’ was up and running, Wood and Wagner were given a 50% entitlement of the show’s profits.
Although they were never credited as producers, the couple were legally investing and profiting money from the show’s success. This remained a secret until 1981, when a lawsuit was filed by Wagner to investigate where their money was going.
