Fall is the time to grab a Pumpkin Spiced Latte, wrap up toasty warm and enjoy some of the best weekend activities that the season has to offer. The important question is, how can you dress practically but also look super chic when dealing with the unpredictable fall weather? Summer fashion is pretty straightforward – stick a cute summer dress over a bikini and hit the beach, but what should you wear this fall for various weekend activities?
Soaking up some culture
Fall is the perfect time to go on cultural dates around your local art exhibitions or museums, and you have to dress the part. Go for some wide legged plaid trousers, a fashionable sweater, patent brogues, rose-gold jewelry and a super chic hat.
Pumpkin Picking
If your Instagram doesn’t have a picture of you in a pumpkin patch then honestly, what are you doing with your fall? Put on some leggings, or worn jeans, with studded low ankle boots, a long-sleeved turtleneck shirt, a puffer jacket and an adorable bobble hat. Stack a few rings, a statement necklace and some aviators for that fall sunshine and make sure you get a “candid” shot next to the best pumpkins!
Farmer’s Market Exploring
Feel like a woman who has got her life together by visiting your local farmer’s’ market after yoga (hey, it’s a new season, a new you!). Team a pair of high-tops with a long floaty skirt, a fun graphic tee, and a denim jacket. Don’t forget a recycled tote bag for your veggies.
Cocktails with friends
If you’re going out with some friends for a drink or two (or four!), wear a turtleneck dress with cable knit tights, heeled boots and a leather jacket for a cozy but cool look that you will be thankful for when you have to walk home! You can dress this look up or down depending on jewelry and shoes, and it’s office appropriate if you want to go from day to night with just accessories.
Wedding date
Not everyone gets married in the summer (although it sure feels like it!). For a fall wedding, opt for a longer gown in a slightly heavier material, so you don’t feel the cold as much when you’re stood outside for what feels like hours during the photos. Accessorise with crystal earrings, a dark clutch and block heels in a corresponding velvet finish. If it’s cold, a stylish cape will keep you warm and look sharp too!
Horror movie night
The fall weather is perfect for… staying in! Cosy up with a mug of cocoa, Netflix and a whole load of Halloween candy. Invest in some comfortable loungewear (bonus points if it features a cute/spooky imagery), snuggly socks and a wearable blanket. Accessorise with cookies! Just because you’re not leaving the house, it doesn’t mean you can’t look super cute!
Just because it’s the spookiest season, it doesn’t mean you have to look a fright! Rock fall as hard as (if not harder than!) the rest of the year and get those amazing autumnal #OOTD likes on Instagram.
