It turned out that Gene had found special ways to overcome his sight issues. He loves to cook. However, it was becoming harder and harder for Gene to be able to read the recipes. That was until the couple came up with the perfect idea.
All Gene needed to do was use the camera on his cell phone to help with the words. Here merely aimed the camera at the text, zoomed in, and used the remaining parts of his vision to make out the words. Joy admits that even with limited vision, Gene is still the better cook.
