Gene continued to look around, and he soon spotted Lincoln in Joy’s arms. His son had changed so much since he was born, yet Gene had relied on his memory to try and picture what he looked like. All of a sudden, he could see both of their faces at one time.
Gene couldn’t stop staring at his family, but it was all too much. Gene confessed that he was “overwhelmed” as he started to cry tears of joy. He wasn’t alone. Joy and Rachael both felt their emotions overcome them.
