Joy spotted Gene and was trying to get his attention. She was waving as she tried to get his attention, but Gene kept walking past, and it looked as though he was ignoring her. She had no idea that Gene merely couldn’t see her waving.
Joy managed to grab Gene and asked him what he was doing. It was only then that Gene got the chance to explain that he was blind. Joy suddenly understood why Gene had kept walking and asked if he would like to sit together. This was the beginning of a great relationship.
