It looked as though Gene was going to have to live with his condition for the rest of his life. That was until Joy was watching the talk show ‘The Rachael Ray Show’ where the host had welcomed someone who had been living with Stargardt’s for five years.
They had a unique pair of glasses that gave the woman her eyesight back. It wasn’t long before Joy and Gene were welcomed onto the show, and Gene was given a chance to see his son and his wife for the first time.
