[post_page_title]A rare condition[/post_page_title]
Stargardt’s is a rare condition. In fact, it’s thought that it affects just one in 8,000 to 10,000 people around the world. It affects the light-sensitive cells in the retina which are responsible for fine detailed vision needed for reading or watching TV.
The cells continue to degenerate, with early symptoms including blurred vision, a loss of detail and color, blind spots, and difficulty adjusting to low light. Most people with Stargardt’s are born with the condition and develop their symptoms by the time they are 20 years old.
