While we weren’t there, we can’t rule out definitively that in either or both of these cases, Emma and Hilary merely suffered a momentary lapse in judgement. They aren’t necessarily bad people for drinking a little too much and making stupid decisions – who among us can honestly say they’ve never done that?
The only difference is that when we do our stupid, embarrassing mistakes, there’s usually no one around to record them for posterity. Without that camera there, how would life have played out for Hilary and Emma?
