Catherine O’Hara was already a household name before Home Alone. She became known as a comedy queen on the show SCTV, and became well-known for her role as the matriarch in the classic film Beetlejuice.
She has also been in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Wyatt Earp, Best in Show, and Frankenweenie. Today, you can watch her on the comedy series Schitt’s Creek, currently in its fourth season. She is married Bo Welch, who she met when he designed the set for Beetlejuice. The couple have two sons together.

Peter McCallister is the patriarch of the McCallister family, and Kevin’s dad. Once Peter and his wife Kate realize they’ve forgotten their son at home, they are understandably worried and upset. Peter attempts to keep his wife calm and tries to get them all on a flight home.
While Kate doesn’t feel like she can wait and leaves on her own, Peter gets the rest of the kids on a flight that gets them all in on Christmas Day, just in time to join in Kate and Kevin’s happy reunion.
