After leaving the show, John spent a brief amount of time in Bones playing Sam Cullen. However, in 2013 the actor reprised his role of Chegwidden for the spin-off from the show, NCIS.
Since then the actor has gone on to appear in the Los Angeles version of the show during 2017. Over the years John has stuck within the crime drama acting scene as he has appeared as minor roles in CSI, Castle, Criminal Minds, and Stalker.
