Although he’s not an Australian native, Alan Dale moved to Australia from New Zealand to star as an original Neighbours cast member. He was chosen to play Jim Robinson for 1,064 episodes – and he couldn’t have been happier with that role. In fact, he believed the characters life to be very similar to his own! Jim’s wife died during the birth of the couple’s daughter and Jim was left to care for his four children. Jim is seen as an anchor character on the show but he is eventually killed off from a heart attack.
