Self-taught Francis Xavier Shields was a tennis player who ranked in the U.S. Top 10 eight times from 1928 to 1945, even reaching No. 1 in 1933. Known for his good looks, he even managed to land a few small roles in Hollywood movies.
His famous granddaughter Brooke Shields had more luck with the Hollywood career, having started early, when she was only 11 months old. She obviously got her beautiful face from her grandpa, and now we’re curious to know if she can play tennis at all.
