Most kids look to their parents to help guide them through childhood and into adulthood. Unfortunately, not everyone has a strong connection with their mom and dad. Even those who are close to them sometimes have more going on behind the scenes than people realize.
That certainly seemed to be the case with Brooke Shields and her mother, with their relationship described as “co-dependent” in her memoir ‘There Was a Little Girl.’ As much as Shields loved her mom, living with the woman’s addiction problems wasn’t easy.
