According to Caitlyn, it was being with Kris that stopped her from transitioning several decades ago. She’d been on the verge of coming out and had even started treatment when her love for Kris put a stop to everything.
As a result, she’d remained as Bruce for another 20+ years, although parts of her identity slipped through the cracks. She was apparently so open about everything with Kris that she even wore women’s clothes in front of her several times. However, it took a divorce for Caitlyn to finally emerge.
