[post_page_title]Theme music to my ears[/post_page_title]
It’s common for the theme song of a show to become one of its most popular elements, and that was certainly the case for ‘The Beverly Hillbillies’. The song, ‘The Ballad of Jed Clampett’ was written by the show’s creator Paul Henning, and performed by Jerry Scroggins and Bluegrass band Flatt and Scruggs.
It proved to be immensely popular among the show’s audience, eventually leading Flatt and Scruggs to record their own version. This was released as a single, and managed to reach #44 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
